General Store
Step into our General Store and this is where your country visit begins.
The General Store is where you may purchase admission tickets to all the attractions at Pumpkin Hollow. This is done 2 ways, either inside the store or outside via our new ticket windows.
New this year a special express lane for online ticket sales.
In the Country Store you will find our sweet shop, Pats Sweet Shop named after Grandma Pat and her special Pumpkin Pie. Which we have been told is the best in Saskatchewan.
In the store is where you will find something for all ages. From fall themed décor to western themed toys and novelty candy.
More importantly it is the place where you can find our Pumpkin Patch where you can take that family fall photo and pick out your Jack-o-Lanterns, specialty pumpkins or gourds.
Pumpkins
Growing pumpkins around Lumsden is tricky due to our unpredictable weather. However, our dedication to growing and supplying great pumpkins has made us one of Saskatchewan’s best pumpkin patches to visit. Some of our pumpkins grow more than 50 lbs. in size!
Pumpkins are harvested in mid-September and placed in the General Store for storage so that they can ripen. It is important that we keep them in a heated indoor area during the nights as pumpkins cannot withstand cold September and October night time temperatures.
We bring pumpkins into the general store starting in mid-September so that our corn maze visitors can pick a fall pumpkin.
As our pumpkin picking is a very popular time for our guests to take pictures, some visitors bring their kids dressed in their Halloween costumes. Costumes are encouraged as kids love this.
The types of pumpkins we have available (while supplies last) are:
- Jack O'lanterns - Our Jack O'lantern sized pumpkins range between 15lbs and up
- Mini Pumpkins - We have little mini-pumpkins that are great for painting, carving, or cooking.
- Pie Pumpkins - Great for pies, carving
- Specialty Pumpkins – variety of different colour and shaped pumpkin
- Gourds – of all different shapes and sizes
